Chartered in 1938, Local 137 has over 87 years of experience in negotiating fair wages and benefit packages for our members while providing the most qualified workforce for our signatory contractors. Our local union represents over 900 operating engineers in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties of New York. Local 137 has trained and certified operators working on many high-profile work sites in the industry, including the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
